Studio Environment
STAY CURRENT WITH IMPORTANT KDA NEWS BY CHECKING OUR BUILDING ENTRANCE POSTINGS, EMAILS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WEBSITE.
The studio environment is focused on kindness, respect, communication, fairness, encouragement, support, discipline and attention to detail. We do not condone disruptive, negative behavior and attitude from anyone associated with KDA. We are team players. Challenges can always be worked on together.
Please respect the studio, the KDA staff, fellow students, and yourself. If your behavior does not represent KDA’s Mission Statement, we will kindly ask you to depart from our community. You are a part of a dance and arts community now and we hold ourselves to a standard of positive, supportive attitudes. We aim to empower each other and our unique strengths.
If you are in any way associated with KDA, remember that you are representing yourself, your teachers and the studio. Please do not in-accurately represent KDA. Professionalism, kindness, cleanliness and organization are important to KDA for maintaining a well-run arts studio on the central coast.
If you want to discuss questions, inquiries, feedback, incidents, situations, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Irene at 805-268-2530 or email kleindancearts@gmail.com. Miss Irene is here with open ears and heart!
Thank you for your patience, as we are a very small business and need time to correspond with you.
Studio Etiquette
Please arrive early and be ready to start class on time. Arrive and leave discreetly if you are late to class or leave early from class. It is disruptive to the class if you draw attention to yourself. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will be asked to sit and observe class. This is done in order to avoid injury after warmup has concluded. Please bring your own water bottle and dance shoes. Please no excessive talking, sitting, or chewing gum during class. Please NO food or drink in the studio spaces.
Studio Safety
All members must follow our safety rules to ensure smooth class experiences, transitions between classes and proper class enrollment. No one may run around the studio space. Children are welcome to play outside in the courtyard.
Please be VERY aware of the moving cars in the parking lot. As you enter and exit the studio, the corner of our building has a blind spot. Please take personal caution when walking in the parking lot and keep your eye on your children when they are outside. Please do not walk outside by yourself in the dark. Safety is our number one priority! Please be careful in our buildings and walking around the property. Please do not touch mirrors, as they are very fragile.
In the case of an evacuation, all KDA members will be transported across the street (Autopark Way) to the large open lot, next to the baseball field. This is where families can find their family members and be picked up.
STUDIO PARKING: Please do not park directly behind Studio 1, in our rear parking lot.
Studio News & Updates
PLEASE STAY CURRENT WITH IMPORTANT KDA NEWS BY CHECKING OUR BUILDING ENTRANCE POSTINGS, EMAILS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WEBSITE. PLEASE do your best to stay updated by thoroughly reading our announcements.
Student Behavior
Please do not talk or cause distraction in dance class and be respectful to your teacher and peers. If a dancer is having difficulty listening to the teacher and not following directions, a “Dance Break” will be encouraged, which allows the teacher to bring the student into the lobby for a brief moment where their caregiver can talk discreetly about why they need to listen to their teacher in dance class. The dancer may re-enter the dance class when they are ready to follow directions again.
Guardian/Family Behavior
Please respect students and teachers by giving them the space they need during their dance classes. You may not enter the dance studio unless given permission by the teacher. Please maintain a respectful attitude in relation to KDA inside and outside of KDA. Thank you.
Due to liability and class management, only enrolled students may participate in classes. If a friend or sibling wants to join class, they must be enrolled and liability waivers must be signed online.
Please kindly step outside if a family member/friend becomes too vocal/distracting for your student and the class. Thank you for your understanding.

Class Attendance (YOU CAN ENROLL AT ANYTIME)
Please sign in student's full name before each class. PLEASE text us at 805-268-2530 if you need to pause monthly enrollment.
Due to liability and class management, only enrolled students may participate in classes. If a friend or sibling wants to join class, they must be enrolled and liability waivers must be signed online.
Class Protocol
If one student attends a group class, the class will be held at half of the duration listed. The student and/or caretaker may also decide if they’d like to save the class and use as a makeup class for another time, instead of having a private lesson. If two students attend class, the class may or may not be held for a shorter duration than listed, depending on students’ attention span.
Class Makeup Policy
If you miss a group class, you do not lose the class. If you miss a private lesson, please be aware if your teacher has a cancellation fee. We do understand life events sometime come up and cannot be controlled. You may makeup the group class during another time on the weekly schedule that is for the same age group. Please let us know which class you'd like to attend as a makeup. You do not necessarily have to attend another class of the same category to makeup for a missed class. You can try a different dance style as a makeup class. Makeup classes are good for one month before they expire. KDA does not credit missed classes towards the next month of tuition.
Student Sickness Courtesy
If a student is under the weather, they must stay home and rest. This allows the student to recover faster and refrain from passing any sickness around. You will not lose the class missed due to sickness. It will turn into a makeup class you can use within one month of purchase.
Student Injuries
KDA staff will prevent injury to the best of their ability and knowledge, but please be aware that physical activity always presents a risk of injury. You are taking class at your own risk. If a student is injured, it is strongly advised to have them stay home and rest. This allows the student to recover faster. You will not lose the class missed due to injury. It will turn into a makeup class you can use within one month of purchase.
Attendance Conflicts
We strongly recommend that parents schedule their children’s doctor appointments, vacations, or any activity before or after a KDA class. KDA hopes to give everyone joyful, consistent training in the world of the arts. Thank you so much for your understanding. Our studio cannot thrive without your cooperation.
Customer Service
Irene Kleinbauer and the staff of KDA welcome communication, constructive feedback, ideas and thoughts. We support the community and always want to improve our services.
Thank you for your patience, as we are a very small business and need time to correspond with you.

It will create consistency when students come back to weekly class.
Teachers and Substitute Teachers
We aim to have our regularly scheduled teachers instruct classes consistently every week, but PLEASE BE AWARE that our teachers are working professionals in the performing arts industry. Substitute teachers will step in to teach classes from time to time and class schedules may periodically need to adjust. Substitute teachers will also step in when a regularly scheduled teacher is sick, has an important event conflict, or there is an emergency.
We support our teachers in their careers and encourage all artists to experience opportunities that increase their knowledge and skills, ultimately, bringing what they have gained back to share with their students at KDA. We ask students and families to be understanding of adjustments and take the opportunity to learn from different teachers.
